Todays shots were taken in Elevator Bay where at least 132 Swans were enjoying lunch amongst other things. Adam and I snuck up on some and then at the tracks stopped to take some more. That’s when they started taking off flying in circles then returning to the same spot in groups of threes and fours. Some of the swans moved across the road to the other bay as well.
Normally they are other photographers in this spot but I guess with the north wind it was to cold to do so.

This is where the soccer dome was located on Division street, Kingston, Ontario till recently. Now it has reverted to a Quarry in the backyards of 3 apartment buildings, and many residential houses. Glad I live a few blocks away.
Chalmers United Church was named after the leader of the Free Church of Scotland movement, the Reverend Thomas Chalmers, who had been appointed Chair of Divinity in Edinburgh and Principal of the First Church College in 1843, a position he held until his death in 1847. In Debate it was said that he could “bury his opponents in fragments of burning mountains.”
In 1890, a new Chalmers Church – The Chalmers Free Presbyterian Church – was planned at the triangle of land formed by Barrie Street, Clergy Street and Earl Street. In anticipation of the union of the Congregational Church, Methodist Church and Presbyterian Church, the Congregationalist Church of Kingston elected to join Chalmers in 1922. The Union of the churches officially took place in 1925 with the formation of The United Church of Canada.
The error pics are panoramics of the inside of the church, click to view

Remembrance Day came and went this year and the weather was the same like always in Kingston. We went to the RCHA memorial in City park to see the guns go off and of course the gun misfired.
Then off to Tommy’s for lunch and the weekend to relax and enjoy in plus 10 degrees for the next week.
by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
This year the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes hosted the area’s pumpkin carving contest both above and below the surface. I took the chance to take photos and hone skills as the carvers took to the water. 90 mins later I surfaced and watched the judging.
Prizes were great this year, and the photographers and videographers all got gift certificates from local hotels. Fun was had by all and thanks to the staff at the Marine Museum for putting this on.
