All About Tom and Polly

After getting back in to photography with the digital age I have amassed a large collection of photos so I have started to share them with you, and Polly got suckered into it along the way. :)

Having an abundance of cameras to choose from (Cannon Powershot A590 & G10, Pansonic LX1, Nixon D100, Nikon D80 D300 and D700, Sony PD150 and VX2000), I have amassed a large library of media of pictures and especially of diving in and about the Kingston area(Picton – Cornwall basically).

I like to spend my time photographing the greatest scenes offered by nature, accidents and discard above and underwater and anything that catches my eyes above the waters. Please enjoy and don’t hesitate to join me underwater or even above it sometime.

A note on low impact diving: Organizations like GLUE, Liquid Archeology and SOS have established that you should only take pictures and only leave bubbles when diving. This is the philosophy I subscribe to as well, I learned very early that looking after your own trim and buoyancy goes a long way in keeping you off the wrecks and reefs of the lakes and oceans. Did you know that every time you touch a reef that part dies?, every time you remove a zebra muscle you cause damage? Please do your part and keep the wrecks in shape for our children as well.

Spelling and grammar mistakes happen on this website not on purpose though, but it’s really hard to correct one’s own work please excuse them or feel free to inform me. FAQ about my scuba pics:
1. You seemed to have a lot of very experienced divers in your photo’s and not many of newer divers. – Ashley

Not true Ashley in the training section there are shots of my students and some of other instructors, I try to only post pictures that actually make the diver look good as well as the instructor.

2. Your diver pictures show great respect for the wrecks and many of the divers are not even touching them in the shots – Rick M.

Correct, proper training by Me, organizations like GUE and preservation groups like SOS and GLUE have taken hold in Eastern Ontario and many divers respect the wrecks.

3. I would like to get a photo of me on a wreck are you available for that. – Dave T

4. Do you donate your photo’s for non profit groups. – James

It depends on the group and their membership, this is my art work and I make them available for you to see so I am careful on who gets to use them.

I would like to thank all my dive buddies for posing, respecting wrecks and putting up with me and my recently acquired quicks both in front and behind my camera, as well as my and Chris M’s retirement follies.

A big thanks for patience to my wife Polly and Daughter for the last couple of years especially of note. It takes a lot of love to love me I guess
