Back into Teaching Mode
Woke up this morning and was able to get 30 km off on the stepper then off to the store to do some diving.

Unlike other scuba professionals I don’t mind teaching tweens/teenagers unfortunately I can’t do it full time but the look in their eyes when they can do it is worth all the time and effort. Today was no exception even though they don’t complete the task at hand and will more then likely not finish it tomorrow either I am prepared to spend more time doing so.
The good thing was my raging ear infection that has been raging for 4 days was little problem today. Then off to Raxx for 10.00 full rack of ribs so the day was a total gas.

And Yet another Day of Diving
So one of my diving buddies and comrade suffers as well and does a lot of diving with me, which is quite enjoyable and helps me understand what is going on in my head. Knowing someone else outside the military circle suffering at times eases me. So today I got to the gym a little late and still got in about 25 kms before heading to the store to get my stuff sorted out for a photoshoot on the Munson. John and Chris joined me as well and as both are striving to improve and as I get comfortable judging smaller errors it’s starting to be a little easier as well.
Meanwhile David and the gang were hanging and banging at the quarry where he was finishing the classroom/pool like conditions portion. I will take over on Thursday testing and hopefully on Friday finish them off . I think it’s going to be fun last time I had a bunch of teen girls it was easier then the parents, so hopefully the same result.
Diving and More Diving
Kingston mills it’s hard to imagine some arab immigrant murdered his family in an Honor killing earlier month. RIP to the four woman that had to die for that. But I imagine that they will be waiting in KP for him and his son a skinny fit man. Payback is a bitch at times.
Lots of diving this week, scooting in the river to 5 foot vis to diving on the Douglas in an evening dive. This week is shaping up to be another full week of diving as well. Enjoy the pics and hopefully I can get more active here.

Wind, Wind and More Wind but 5 dives on the weekend
Congrats to Gary who finished his OW course with a referral from TO to see me for the weekend. At first I was not that happy with his performance which was typical for most starters. After the second dive with some talking and adjusting equipment he did alot better. I then decided that he could finish his checkouts on a wreck the next day.
We started on thursday with wind and sunday it was still blowing but we made it to the Wolfe Islander with no problems. The first dive of the day he held the line and down we went at 40 feet he still hadn’t added enough air so was struggling and when he sorted it out. off to the skills we go. Then after the ascent at 15 feet he let go of the line and started hoovering as tech wannabee divers came down the line and members from Kingston came holding the line for dear life.
So the last dive he had it down, hoovering and slowly kicking no silt and and quite comfortable so I passed him smiles around. The other instructor on the boat came over and started asking question about the gear and my methods while bouncing up and down in three foot rollers all the way home.
Ohh I like your pics can I have them for free I will give you credit

One thing that is rampaged between website owners and photographers since the invention of the net and digital camera is ownership rights. People constantly “borrow” photo their sites and pay only with a photocredit. Lots of them state we are not for profit sounds great the last not for profit website that used my pics crucified me to the cross after getting all of them. So no more for that line of not for profit sites. Business sites do the same and get pissy with asked where is my name on the pics, well we thought about it and decided that your in competition with us. But guess what my photos are still there. Thoughts on what to do?.
Hey I don’t mind helping people but it’s got to go both ways so if you see my pics out there let me know and we will starr posting links to the people that borrow and not do anything in return. Hell I will even post links to those that use my pics and credit me.
Some shots are plain lucky
So we got blown off the lake today as the winds hit 25Kph out of the south which is pretty brutal in the small boats. But like normal once the customers go away and the evening comes it drops drastically. After vibrating most of the day and staying out of peoples way so I don’t tear them a new one I headed down to the water front to catch a sunset.
But the skies wouldn’t raise high enough and only a thin red cloud line was seen from the water front, then the skies open up and the rain came hard, I was at the marine museum and could see the wall of rain down the street when a rainbow appeared over RMC. So i got a few shots in and started home, I stopped at the Holiday Inn to allow some people to cross and saw a Brigantine come into view so I started down the wharf for a few more shots.

Buskers, Beer and an Old friend returns
So the buskers are in town this weekend and it’s fun for all to enjoy, other then a few mini panic attacks I made it through the day with some help from the patio. Chris came with me for the day as Rose is out of town on business feeding elephants in africa. The buskers this year featured a couple of new acts that are worth seeing. The child in the picture above had just donated a good nose nugget that he had mined a moment before. He felt the need to join the others in adding to the pot.
The first one is the mime in front of Kingston Station very disciplined and played the accordion for added effect we stuck around for a bit with this guy and watched the children lose themselves figuring him out.

The better one of the show from what I saw as a british juggler and escape artist that kept the crown going with a constant spew of one liners. Near the end he coaxed a girl out and snuck a quick kiss turning her in to every shade of red possible. After which Chris and I headed to the quarry for a drink with Dan and listen to his plan for expanding the quarry for a family fun place.
Well look who is back in town and has joined me for a drink at the quarry and has many plans for the upcoming months.
So stayed tuned for his adventures.
Complete pictures from the Buskers will be uploaded here.
More new Ink
So I got a new tattoo again today and so did Polly. I tried a new artist as the one I like seems more interested in smoking up in his store and playing guitar hero then actually getting down to business. This new girl did a great job reworking my old tattoo and will more then likely get repeated business from us.
i have started back in the gym as well after a couple of weeks off my leg was killing me and the depression was raging for some odd reason. I also got a new to me truck which was one of the worse experiences in my life
I purchased the truck in full on a Monday and had to wait 8 days to get the truck as the dealer could not locate parts for the safety and schedule the work to be completed.
Off working on the Moorings
Here’s a thankless but necessary job in the Kingston dive community. So far this year I have spent about 1500.00 dollars between myself, the Store and other charter companies monies fixing, raising, re-raising and recovering mooring lines, supplies and bouys. Do I get a thank you not in your life time and to add insult to injury the local POW chapter publishes a newsletter advertising out of town businesses and marking us as a nonpaying sponsor. How much you ask 100.00 dollars. I guess only cash in hand counts. The funny thing is I only hear from them now when they need something, not an email or request for divers to assist them in the survey, only a request for a free boat to take them out diving as a reward to members. I’m not sure on the way this works but looks like my support has to be reassessed for next year, and if out of town businesses are taking the sales and getting the mentions then maybe they should be sending the boats and stuff for rewarding members.
Canada Day and The Munson
Some immigrants and permanent residents don’t get it but yet again a little girl does. This girl marched down Princess Street giving the Town Crier a go for his money. Chris drives a kawasaki not like it’s a real bike :’-)
Yet the permanent residents bash and complain about all the rights and freedoms Canada offers them in return. To hell with them with up and coming Canadians like this
Looks like the future maybe so bright we have to wear shades. Complete photos of Canada are here . So after riding and lots of sunshine on Canada day a few days of rain has made everything wet and my new to me Dodge Dokota has arrived. I bought a 249.99 sat ready, blue tooth radio and it only cost me 400.00 in free installation but parts were extra thanks Best Buy. To Steve’s credit he fixed the broken mic the next day with no argument.
So like most Fridays Dan was teaching so Harold and I joined him on the Munson.
We opted to look for gear and ship parts to place in the wreck, I found 3 bottles, 3 wieght belts, 2 snorkels, Harold found a Lite, Mask and 2 pairs of sunglasses one of mine from last year. So back in and in the rain again. Hopefully tomorrow the sun will return.
Yesterday I started the Rider’s Edge Skilled Rider Instructor course at Motosport Plus in Kingston, this is a Harley Davidson sponsored program so thanks for asking me to participate
